Maybe someone shulod point out an obvious assumption, well understood in the past, that relatively higher salaries for oil rig workers, just like the salaries of firefighters, first-response law enforcement, etc etc are higher exactly by the reason that these professions are dangerous and carry higher risk of bodily harm or even loss of life. It's factored in the pay.
