Hercules Voyager

Hercules Voyager is newly built very large crude carrier. The vessel is owned and managed by Almi Tankers SA and was constructed by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in their shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.

The crude carrier has overall length of 333.00 m, moulded beam of 60.05 m and maximum summer draft of 22.53 m. With these measurements the VLCC Hercules Voyager has deadweight of 319,359 DWT, gross tonnage of 161,692 GRT and net tonnage of 112,170 NT. The large cargo vessel is designed and built in 2014, according to the latest IMO standards and marine engineering technology. The ship Hercules Voyager has maximum cargo capacity of 351,318 cubic meters at 98% of the cargo tanks. This volume equals to 2,209,726 barrels, using on maximum the all available space in the cargo tanks and having maximum efficiency of operations. The cargo tanks are equipped with 3 centrifugal pumps, each with capacity of 55,000 cub m per hour. The high capacity pumps ensure fast discharging of the full quantity and decrease the time spent at oil terminals for cargo handling.

Hercules Voyager is strong, reliable and very efficient crude carrier. The VLCC has engineering and propulsion system from new generation, which has low fuel consumption and high power. The main engine is long-stroke low-revolution MAN B&W 7G80ME-C9.2, which is new generation G-type electronically controlled marine diesel engine. The maximum output of the propulsion unit is 32,680 hp at 68 rpm. The engine and propulsion system of Hercules Voyager features with improved propeller efficiency, and therefore reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Also the engine has integrated system comprising performance, adequate monitoring and diagnostics of engine for longer time between overhauls. The engine works on low rpm in case of maneuvering and easy to reverse.

The improved main engine and the strong propeller with improved angle of attack allow the vessel to operate with service speed of 14.5 kn, while the maximum during the speed trials reached 16.0 kn. The electronic control decreases the harmful emissions and make the engine more environmental complying with MARPOL Tier 2 standards of NOx gasses.

Hercules Voyager is operating under the flag of Bahamas with IMO number 9583732 and call sign C6AB9. The ship has class society from American Bureau of Shipping. The VLCC is owned by Almi Tankers SA and operated by Chevron Shipping Company LLC.
