Bibby completes IRM contract for Brunei Shell Petroleum assets

Bibby Offshore Singapore (BOS) has completed an inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) project for Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) on its offshore assets in Brunei.

As part of the offshore project, Bibby inspected BSP's East and West assets and covered a total of 48 pipelines, with a combined length of 272km, as well as 93 platform risers.

The project was undertaken by Bibby Spring, a dynamic positioning 2 (DP2) remote operating vehicle (ROV) support vessel operated by BOS.

Configured for IRM operations, the ROV support vessel has dual ROV capability, including the Atom, the latest compact workclass ROV from SMD. The vessel is also equipped with comprehensive data acquisition and processing packages.

Bibby Offshore Singapore managing director Darren Morgan said completion of the contract successfully demonstrates the company's ability to deliver complex and challenging subsea projects.

"This has been an extremely successful year for the business so far and we have invested significantly in our fleet to deliver high quality products and services to our clients," Morgan added.

With offices in Aberdeen, Liverpool, Singapore, Houston and Trinidad, Bibby Offshore employs more than 1,300 people onshore and offshore worldwide.

The company has an international fleet of six subsea support vessels and 13 remote operating vehicles (ROV), and will continue to add to its fleet to meet demand.

Bibby Offshore, a subsidiary of Bibby Line Group, undertakes subsea projects using owned and leased diving support vessels, while also operating floating production and storage units.
